No Jami, so sad

Jami apparently has swarm support now, which is a sort of way to allow multiple device users. The lack of multi-devices user support has been the blocker for me, so I was ecstatic to read the announcement! There are even a couple of packages for Arch, which I tried; all result in either (a) failure to compile, or (b) segfault once running. So, fine. I'll go grab an AppImage. Except that there are no AppImages for the desktop client. It appears that there used to be, but those have all disappeared. Ok, ok... I'm willing to use Flatpak, when necessary -- only, there appears to be no Jami entry in any of the Flatpak sources I searched.
It appears that Jami is fully wedded to Ubuntu, which is hard pushing snaps, and that Ubuntu has enough pull to have all non-Snap sources removed. But, guess what, Ubuntu: your decision about Snap has made me your enemy, if not nemesis. I will not only not use your shit, but I'll try to prevent others from using it; I will boost messages critical of Ubuntu in social media, and bury those that praise you. Snap is a piece of crap, but your fascism about packaging is unacceptable. Throwing bricks through the windows of Flatpak store-owners only gets you comparisons you deserve.
Sadly, it means that, until the Arch builds get fixed, I will not be using Jami; it's coming off my phone. SimpleX looks like the main contender for interesting new outsiders. Until (and if) they can get the user journey tightened up so that it's not so obtuse, I'll keep the family on Wire (which, at least, is stable and easy to use). Matrix, well, it's for technology-focused folks, and the encryption and key management has a very long way to go before I'd recommend it to a novice.
It's late. I'm tired.
