Music

A year or so ago, I started listening to K.T. Tunstall.  She's become one of my all-time favorites; I like both Drastic Fantastic and Eye To The Telescope, and am eagerly awaiting her next album.

I've also spent a lot of time this year listening to Lady Gaga.  It's very good programming music, because of the energy content, but I think the real reason I like her is that -- although I'm 43 -- it wasn't until Lady Gaga that I really grokked the concept of the musical "hook."  Almost every song on The Fame has a very effective (for me) hook.  I still can't identify what a hook is, but her songs have them, in spades.  I also like the person, or, rather, I should say that I like her public persona, because obviously I've never met her.  Her Paparazzi video is amazing.

Finally, the most recent band I've discovered is The Bird And The Bee.
